Neighbourhoods where you may not light fireworks
This year The Hague is conducting an experiment. In 6 neighbourhoods it is prohibited to light fireworks. Research has shown that most of the people in these neighbourhoods would like a ban on fireworks. Signs will be posted along the boundaries of these neighbourhoods. Police and enforcers will not be checking if people are obeying the ban because they will not have any time to do this at New Year’s.
The following neighbourhoods have a ban on fireworks:
- Archipelbuurt (Centrum district)
- Benoordenhout (Haagse Hout district)
- Bohemen Meer en Bos (Loosduinen district)
- Regentessekwartier (Segbroek district)
- Vogelwijk (Segbroek district)
- Zeeheldenkwartier (Centrum district)
Other firework-free spots
There are streets, neighbourhoods, parks and courtyards where neighbours have agreed to not light any fireworks. The municipality is asking everybody to remember this and not to light any fireworks.
