Stadskamer: share your thoughts with the municipality

The municipality uses different instruments to listen to city residents and business owners. It wants to hear their concerns and what can be better. Share your thoughts with the municipality through the Stadskamer.

Staff of the Stadskamer go into the city to hear what people think about certain subjects. For example, they visit the Haagse Markt, Scheveningen beach and community centres to talk to people there. But there is also a physical ‘Stadskamer’ which you can visit in City Hall Spui. It is a sort of living room where you can chat with staff members during a research project. You can sign up to take part in a study.

Different studies

The Stadskamer carries out research in different ways, using:

• 1-on-1 interviews
• group discussions
• questionnaires

The Stadskamer uses these instruments to listen to your experiences and wishes. For example, your thoughts about your interaction with the municipality or about a subject the municipality is working on. The Stadskamer will investigate how it can be improved.

Topics

The Stadskamer conducts research on various topics. On everything which impacts the city and you. For example:

• What steps do you think you should take after reading an official letter from the municipality?
• What kind of information do you need for you to make your home more sustainable?
• You are requesting support for your child. Do you see ways the contact with the municipality can be better?
• Do you understand the flyer with instructions for applying for a permit for your business?
• You want to do sports. How can the municipality help you find what you are looking for?

Improving the city

When you participate in research studies in the Stadskamer, you are helping to make the city better. The municipality gets an impression of what you are happy with. But also a clear idea on what can be changed. The municipality can then make adaptations which are more in line with your wishes.

Do you have young children but no babysitter? That is not a problem. There is an area in the Stadskamer where the children can draw and play quietly.
