Apply for proof of citizen service number (BSN)

A proof of the citizen service number (BSN) is an extract from the Personal Records Database (BRP) which also states your BSN.

  • your surname
  • your given name(s)
  • your date and place of birth
  • your home address
  • your citizen service number

This extract is only available in Dutch.

Log in with DigiD. Cick on ‘Volgende’ and choose the extract you need.

At a municipal counter

€ 17.35 (in 2024) or € 18 (in 2025) when you pick up the extract at the municipal counter. You pay € 18.44 (in 2024) or € 19.21 (in 2025) including postage costs directly with iDEAL when you apply online. These are the rates for 2024.

You can pay in cash or use a bank card at City Hall Spui. You can only use a bank card at the Leyweg City Office. Unfortunately it is not possible to pay with a credit card.

Are you applying for the extract online? The municipality will send you the extract within 3 working days. This can take longer depending on the postal service to your home address.

Are you requesting the extract at City Hall Spui or the Leyweg City Office? You will get the document right away. You need to bring a Begin link: valid form of identification, end link. with you.
