Frequently asked questions about bonfires

The stacks of pallets for the bonfires in Duindorp and Scheveningen are not allowed to be higher than 10 metres tall.

Only (old and unusable) stacked wooden pallets are allowed to be used.

The municipality will perform a visual inspection as well as use measuring equipment to check the height of the bonfire.

The safety plan contains rules (part of the permit) on how the bonfires will be built. They will be constructed mainly by hand. The Health and Safety Inspectorate will check if everybody is complying with the rules of the Occupational Health & Safety Service (Arbo).

The municipality will clean up the area after the bonfires have finished burning out.
