Cyber Flare Award
On Friday, 4th October, from 13:00 to 13:30, The Hague will host the first-ever ‘Haagse Cybersecurity Flare’ award ceremony in front of the Leyweg shopping centre in The Hague South-West. This event is part of an initiative dedicated to improving the digital resilience of citizens and small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
With one in three entrepreneurs facing cyberattacks, the city of The Hague recognises the critical importance of cybersecurity. Protecting against digital threats is not just a priority for large corporations but also for local businesses and residents. The Cybersecurity Flare is being introduced to highlight individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to enhancing local cybersecurity.
Mayor Jan van Zanen will present the awards, alongside Police Chief Karin Krukkert. The ceremony is open to the public, and visitors can learn more about improving their digital resilience from the city’s ‘Buurt Bakkie’ van, while enjoying refreshments. Local citizens and businesses are encouraged to attend and show their support for a safer, more cyber-aware community.
